Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) said that the number of international flights passengers in 2018 exceeded the number of domestic flights passengers for the first time since the company’s inception.

The carrier has carried over 34 million passengers during 2018 of which 17 million were international flights passengers which reflects the company’s direction to boost its international operations and increase its international transportation market share, Saudia said in a statement.

Growing operating rates reflect the growing and comprehensive growth witnessed by the corporation, its companies and its strategic units within the framework of the transformation program currently being implemented in line with the national transformation program, Saleh Al Jasser, the carrier’s director general said.

Al Jasser has also emphasized the continued growth in the operating performance of Saudi Airlines and achieving new figures during the current year 2019.
