Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Monday was briefed by the Royal Commission for Mecca City and Holy Sites on the progress of expansion works at the Grand Mosque, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
During its second meeting, the commission’s board of directors discussed progress of the Grand Mosque’s third expansion project and Saudi joint efforts to provide the best services for pilgrims.
“The Royal Commission for Mecca City is working on several issues, including the management of Grand Mosque, public transportation and roads, and other infrastructure services at Holy Sites,” said the commission’s chief executive Abdel Rahman Addas.
The commission and other competent authorities are also cooperating on Rou'a Al Haram project, the development of holy sites and surrounding slums, and supporting pilgrim services.
