The total number of individual firms in Saudi Arabia grew by 16 percent in 2018 to 945,278, while the limited liability companies (LLCs) increased by 11.4 percent to 109,036 compared to 2017, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has reported citing the Saudi Ministry of Commerce and Investment.
Existing records of the joint stock companies also increased by 5.9 percent in 2018 compared to the previous year, the report added.
As much as 39 percent of the Saudi companies are in Riyadh Region, followed by Makkah Region with 25 percent, the Eastern Region with 19 percent, Madinah Region with 4 percent and Qassim Region with 3 percent.
In the case of individual firms, 28 percent are in Riyadh, 23 percent in Makkah, 15 percent in the Eastern-region, 7 percent in Qassim and 5 percent in Asir, respectively, the SPA report added.
