Starting from the second quarter of 2019, advanced infrastructure works will start in Modon Oasis, targeting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups, said Khalid Al-Salem, director of the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON).
Modon Oasis will include industries such as textile, food processing, technical products and crafts, fertilizers, packaging, furniture, metallurgical industries except smelting, rubber and plastic, wood and cork products for printing, and electrical equipment, computers and electronic products, he said.
King Salman launched the SAR 220 million project in November last year, Argaam previously reported.
Modon Oasis spans over 3 million square meters, of which 1 million square meters are developed land plots for industrial purposes, in addition to six existing plants, at a completion rate of 37 percent in 2018, he said, adding that the first phase aims to finish 140 factories.
