Sakaka solar power project is 25% complete

The Sakaka solar power project in Al Jouf is currently 25 percent complete, according to the Saudi energy ministry.

 

The 300 megawatt (MW) project is expected to provide 80 percent of Al-Jouf houses with clean energy, the ministry said, adding that the project’s local content will reach 30 percent.

According to data compiled by Argaam, the solar photovoltaic (PV) IPP project is the first renewable energy project under the King Salman Renewable Energy Initiative.
