Jeddah-based Rawya Al-Reefy has become the first Saudi woman to fly an A330 airplane.

Al-Reefy studied civil aviation in the United Arab Emirates, and her first job was at Etihad Airways in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi.

“The Saudi woman now has opportunities to study abroad and achieve all her ambitions,” she said.

Al-Reefy first started flying the A320, then the A330. Her next move will be to fly the Boeing 777.
