Empire Cinema consortium to open 10 4DX screens in Saudi Arabia

Al-Rashed Empire Cinema consortium has signed a new deal with global cinema technology company, CJ 4DPLEX, to open ten 4DX theatres in Saudi Arabia by 2023.

 

"This is the largest 4DX deal yet for Saudi Arabia and will ensure that the format plays a big role as the Kingdom opens itself to international cinema," JongRyul Kim, CEO of CJ 4DPLEX, said in a statement.

 

The agreement comes a year after the consortium announced plans to open as many as 30 theatres in various cities around Saudi Arabia, after it was granted a license to operate cinemas in the Kingdom by the General Authority for Audiovisual Media.
