Prices of 92 goods and services in Saudi Arabia rose year-on-year (YoY) in March 2019, while prices of 68 commodities dropped, official data issued by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed.
Out of the total of 88 food products, prices of 50 items were up YoY for the month, while prices of other 38 products decreased.
Prices of American cardamom jumped the most by 16.30 percent YoY, while local figs saw the biggest drop at 25 percent YoY.
As for non-food commodities, the prices of seven items increased in March, with the local paper tissues “Fine” recording the biggest rise at 7 percent YoY.
The prices of ten out of 13 services rose last month compared to March 2018.
Prices of six fodder and livestock products increased in March.
Meanwhile, prices of 19 construction materials increased for the month, while 18 materials fell. The 10 mm-rebar rose the most by 6.81 percent YoY.
