Saudi Arabia is expected to launch commercial 5G services this year, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) said in its annual report.
A total of 680 tests for 5G network were conducted across 791 sites across the Kingdom last year, CITC added.
The 5G networks will enhance internet speeds, offer various broadband services and roll out the internet-of-things across smart cities and digital facilities.
The telecom market regulator added that it is studying additional frequencies for 5G applications within the 3.8-4.2 gigahertz range.
