Saudi energy minister apologizes for blackouts in southern provinces

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Khaled Al Falih has apologized to residents in southern provinces after Saturday’s power outages. 

 

An emergency plan was developed to handle the technical glitch, Al-Falih said in a tweet. 

 

The service was reconnected to almost 94 percent of residents, he added.
