Saudi courts see 30,000 financial cases in 9M: report

Saudi courts saw around 30,000 financial cases in the past nine months, a 25 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase from 22,700 financial cases a year earlier, Al-Eqtisadiah reported.

 

Riyadh commercial court saw 13,400 cases, or 44.9 percent, of the total Kingdom’s financial disputes, followed by Jeddah’s court at 6,400 cases and Dammam’s court at 4,400 cases.

 

Makkah court received 1,500 financial cases, while Maddinah saw 1.402 cases followed by Tabuk with 672 cases.

 

According to data compiled by Argaam, Saudi Arabia’s first instance courts saw 31,300 cases last Hijri year, of which 10,400 cases were seen at Riyadh commercial courts.

 

Commercial disputes are seen at three commercial courts in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, as well as other commercial tribunal chambers and appeal courts across the Kingdom.
