The official Saudi gazette published on Friday the rules and regulations of the center of the special residency scheme, which was approved by the cabinet on May 14, 2019.
Under the regulations, the center will be a financially and administratively independent entity, working under the Council of Economic and Development affairs (CEDA).
Headquarters will be at the Ministry of Interior, and the center it can open other offices as needed.
The center will have a supervising committee chaired by the interior ministry with the membership of the ministries of economy and planning, finance, commerce and investment, foreign affairs, labor and social development, information, and Hajj and Umrah.
According to data compiled by Argaam, eligible beneficiaries of the new special expat residency scheme will not have to pay dependent fees, can sponsor and invite family members, and can own property and vehicles.
