State-owned Saudi Aramco has awarded an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract to US-based McDermott International for its offshore Marjan and Zuluf fields.
The contract includes the full suite of EPCI services for the relocation of control rooms in Zuluf GOSP-4, Marjan GOSP 2 and 3 including the fabrication of new control rooms, boat landings and new jacket members, as well as the upgrade of all control systems as required, McDermott said in a statement.
Work on the project will begin immediately, and will be carried out from its Al Khobar office and Dammam fabrication facility, in line with its focus to contribute to Saudi Arabia's in-country output.
The value of the contract was not given, but McDermott defined a “large contract as between $50 million and $250 million”.
The contract will reflect in McDermott's Q2 2019 backlog, the statement said.
