Lazurde turns to SAR 10.2 mln profit in Q1 2021

Lazurde Company for Jewelry swung to a net profit after Zakat and tax of SAR 10.2 million in Q1 2021, against a net loss of SAR 1.6 million in the year-ago period.

The company reduced operating costs by 2.5% year-on-year (YoY) despite a significant increase in revenues. Total revenue, including gold metal value, grew by 23.9% YoY to SAR 551.4 million in the first quarter of 2021.

In Egypt, retail revenues impressively increased by 62.1% YoY, mainly attributable to the growth of revenues in same shops, the successful launch of Miss L’, the new fast growing Lazurde e-commerce platforms and the opening of six new outlets in the last twelve months.

The jewelry producer launched the new fast growing e-commerce business in March 2020, which delivered SAR 5.0 million revenues in Q1 2021.

Shareholders’ equity, excluding minority interest, fell by 26.٣% to SAR 308.1 million by the end of Q1 2021, compared to SAR 418 million in the year-ago period.
