Southern Cement’s H1 2024 profit jumps 35% to SAR 92M; Q2 at SAR 30M

Southern Province Cement Co. reported a 35% profit rise to SAR 92 million in H1 2024, from SAR 68 million in the year-earlier period.

The H1 2024 net earnings were lifted by higher average selling prices, lower cost of goods sold, and a decline in selling and distribution expenses.

 

On the other hand, revenue dropped 11.6% year-on-year (YoY) due to weak sales volumes.

 

The second-quarter net profit leapt 58% to SAR 30 million, from SAR 19 million in Q2 2023, driven by better average selling prices and lower cost of goods sold.
 

 

The cement producer’s fell 51.6% from SAR 62 million in Q1 2024 due to lower revenue and sales volumes.
