Al Ahsa Development swings to loss in Q1

Al Ahsa Development Co. reported a net loss of SAR 2.42 million for the first quarter of 2018, compared to a net profit of SAR 1.82 million in the same quarter last year, due to lower dividend received, higher cost of sales, lower other income and increases in selling and marketing expenses and general and administrative (G&A) expenses.

When compared to previous quarter, the company narrowed net losses by 76.8 percent on account of not booking any provisions and realizing higher other income, in addition lower G&A expenses and zakat provision.
