SAPTCO reduces H1 2019 losses by nearly 40%

Saudi Public Transport Co. (SAPTCO) trimmed net losses after zakat and tax by 39.8 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 20.6 million for H1 2019, driven by higher operating and subsidiary revenue, along with a steep decline in selling and distribution expenses.

 

The results were also bolstered by a rise in other revenue and joint venture profit, and a decline in zakat and income tax.

In Q2 2019, the transport company also reduced net losses after zakat and tax by 67 percent YoY to SAR 9.6 million on higher operating revenue.

 

Q2 2018 included impairment losses for assets held for sale, property, plant and equipment.

 

When compared to the previous quarter, net losses narrowed by 7.8 percent on a decline in the cost of sales, zakat and income tax.
