Saudi central bank assets down SAR 34 bln in January 2019

Assets held by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA), the Kingdom’s central bank, declined by SAR 33.5 billion month-on-month to about SAR 1.866 trillion in January 2019, new data released by the central bank showed.

 

When compared to the same month last year, assets dropped SAR 38 billion.

SAMA’s investments in foreign securities, which account for 64 percent of its total assets, declined 2 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 1.197 trillion in January.
