Public Investment Fund
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) aims to fulfill the Kingdom’s national objectives by investing domestically and internationally. PIF also seeks to play a crucial role in diversifying the Kingdom's economic base, through the establishment of strong economic partnerships that will deepen the Kingdom's role and influence in the region.
PIF also aims to be a global investment powerhouse and the world’s most impactful investor, and support the creation of new sectors and opportunities that will shape the future of the global economy, while driving the economic transformation of Saudi Arabia.
PIF Program is a roadmap and a pivotal factor for the advancement of Vision 2030, as it endeavors to develop the Kingdom's wealth by contributing to the growth of its non-oil GDP and investing in viable projects across diversified sectors.
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) was established under Royal Decree No. M/24 in 1971G (corresponding to 1391H). It underwent a significant transformation in 2015G (corresponding to 1436H), when the Kingdom's Council of Ministers issued Resolution No. 270, placing the Fund under the newly formed Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA), with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom as chairman.
Over the past several decades, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) was a cornerstone of the Saudi economy, contributing significantly to the establishment of major domestic companies, financing strategic national projects, and cultivating a diverse investment portfolio both locally and internationally. This strategic approach was instrumental in accelerating the Kingdom's economic growth, culminating in its inclusion among the world's leading economies in the G20.
