Nadec’s net profit fell 52% in H1 on lower sales

National Agricultural Development Company's (NADEC) net profit in H1 2018 plunged 52 percent year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 14.5 million on lower sales and a drop in dairy and food revenue, despite higher revenue from the agriculture segment.

 

The firm also attributed the drop in profit to higher general and administrative expenses (G&A), higher losses from the OIE line, in addition to a one-off profit a year earlier from the sale of equity investment Taseel.

Nedec’s Q2 net profit fell 24.6 percent YoY to SAR 19.5 million due to lower sales revenue from the dairy and food segment, lower export sales, higher G&A expenses and a one-off recognized from the sale of Taseel in Q2 2017.

 

The company achieved net profit in Q2 compared to a net loss of SAR 5 million in the previous quarter mainly on higher sales revenue due to the seasonality effect of Ramadan and higher gross profit.
