Saudi Arabia ensures close scrutiny of COVID-19 vaccines: health minister

Saudi Minister of Health, Tawfig Al-Rabiah, said the ministry maintains close scrutiny of all vaccines entering the Kingdom, stressing that it is keen on the quality of vaccines and ensuring safety.

The ministry is seeking to provide more coronavirus vaccines for distribution in all regions of the Kingdom, Al-Rabiah said in an interview with Al-Ekhbariya TV channel, on the sidelines of the launch of health projects along the Northern borders.

He added that the ministry is waiting for additional supply of coronavirus vaccines to ensure wider distribution, noting that as additional vaccines get available they will be provided in all regions.

On Dec. 17, 2020, Saudi Arabia began the vaccination campaign with the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, according to the data available with Argaam.
