TASI edges up; Kingdom Holding rallies, earnings hit SABIC
Saudi Arabian stocks closed positive on Sunday, recovering from early decline that was driven by petrochemical blue chip Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC).
The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) rose 0.2 percent to close at 7,538 points, with volumes at SAR 3.4 billion. The advance-decline ratio stood at 111-64.
Market Index
SABIC fell nearly 3 percent to SAR 105.8. The petchem giant reported a net profit of SAR 3.7 billion in Q4 2017, down nearly 19 percent year-on-year (YoY) and below NCB Capital’s estimates of SAR 5.4 billion.
MetLife AIG ANB Cooperative Insurance Co. lost nearly 10 percent to reach SAR 12.94.

Diversified financials sub-index jumped nearly 6 percent as investment firm Kingdom Holding Co. touched the daily upper limit at SAR 10.04, after its owner Prince Alwaleed bin Talal was released from Riyadh’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Co. (Alhokair) was up nearly 7 percent at SAR 30.7.
Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) gained more than 2 percent to reach SAR 73.1, after posting a net profit of SAR 10.2 billion for the fiscal year 2017.
