TASI falls 1.3% to 11,824 points, turnover at SAR 8.9 bln

Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed 1.3%, or 154 points, lower at 11,824 points today, June 16, recording the lowest close in five months.

 

Total turnover reached nearly SAR 8.9 billion. 

 

The index has been down nearly 1,100 points, or 8.5%, since the beginning of this month.

 

Global index provider FTSE Russell implemented the changes announced as part of its semi-annual index review on June 2.

 

On June 15, the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) raised its reverse repo and repo rates by 50 basis points after the US Federal Reserve raised its target interest rate by three-quarters of a percentage point.

Market Index

Al Rajhi Bank and SABIC fell 4% to SAR 86.20 and SAR 103.20, respectively.

 

Bank Albilad, Maaden, Alinma Bank, Petro Rabigh, stc and Bank AlJazira declined between 2% and 5%.

 

Yansab closed at SAR 51.50 (-5%) after the end of the eligibility for cash dividends on shareholders.
