TASI falls 1.6% to below 11,566 points, turnover hits 3-month low
Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed 1.6%, or 191 points, lower at 11,566 points today, Oct. 9.
Total turnover reached SAR 3.8 billion, the lowest in three months.
The index decline comes in line with the fall in the global market, especially the US, after Federal Reserve may announce an aggressive rate hike to combat inflation.
Market Index
Al Rajhi Bank and SABIC fell 2% to SAR 82.40 and SAR 93, respectively.
Almarai declined 4% to SAR 53.10 after the company’s Q3 2022 financial came below analyst estimates.
Umm Al-Qura dropped 7% to SAR 20.06. The company announced a major technical failure in one of its cement mills, leading to its stoppage and decreased sales quantities.
Najran Cement closed at SAR 12.32 (-3%) after the end of the eligibility for cash dividends.
