TASI falls 2.1% to 11,504 points, total turnover at SAR 10.6B
Saudi Arabia’s benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed 2.1%, or 250 points, lower at 11,504 points today, Aug. 5, recording the lowest close in two months.
Total turnover reached about SAR 10.6 billion.
The index fell to its lowest levels during the day at 11,318 points, down 436 points, before recovering some losses.
TASI’s decline coincided with widespread losses in Asian stock markets due to fears of a slowdown in the US economy.
Market Index
Most of the stocks declined, led by Saudi Aramco falling 1% to SAR 26.80. About 36 million shares worth SAR 1 billion changed hands.
ACWA Power and Saudi National Bank each fell nearly 5% to SAR 378.20 and SAR 34.65, respectively.
Walaa, AYYAN, Salama, Al Rajhi Takaful, Nama Chemicals, Al-Babtain, and Bahr Al Arab dropped between 8% and 10%.
