Sahara International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) announced the completion of the scheduled periodic turnaround maintenance for the polymers plant of International Polymers Co. (IPC), with startup activities commencing today, Feb. 7, 2021.

The Saudi-listed firm asserted in a bourse filing that the required maintenance works were completed safely to enhance the polymers plant’s reliability, efficiency and reduce production cost.

It further affirmed that the scheduled periodic turnaround maintenance will allow it to achieve the plant’s future operational plans.

The financial impact of the maintenance depends on the actual period of the interruption and the average selling prices of products during this period, the company noted, stressing the impact will reflect in Q1 2021 financials.

The company has taken the necessary actions to limit any potential impact on its customers.

On Feb. 1, 2021, Sipchem started turnaround maintenance for six days at the polymers plant of IPC and 16 days at the ethyl acetate plant of Sipchem Chemicals Co. (SCC).

IPC and SCC are affiliate firms of Sipchem.
