The newly-restructured National Government Resources Systems Center will help boost operating efficiency, transparency, and decision-making skills, Al Arabiya TV reported, citing Chief Executive Ahmed M. Alsuwaiyan.

The Ministry of Finance has been developing some e-systems over the last three years to monitor the performance of the state budget, including Etimad Platform and the revenue-collection system (Tahseel).

Further, the Saudi government launched several initiatives to improve performance, boost transparency, convert into accrual accounting and implement the consolidation of cash accounts, he noted.

“The new center will help the enactment of cost-cutting policies, as it will provide a unified procurement platform,” said Alsuwaiyan.

He added that these resources were previously run independently and the new center aims to run all sectors under one unified system.

Additionally, the new integrated unit will undertake a big portion of government procurement agreements and public-private sector contracts and will also provide services to 3 million state employees via a unified integrated system, Alsuwaiyan explained.

Minister of Finance, Mohammed Al-Jadaan, said yesterday that Saudi Cabinet’s decision of converting the Ministry of Finance’s law agency into an independent entity – the National Government Resources Systems Center - will reflect positively on the Kingdom’s economy.
