Meeting of ACAO Executive Council

Saudi Arabia won membership of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO), in the elections that took place on the sidelines of the 26th ordinary session of the organization's general assembly held in Rabat.

The executive council includes Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, and Morocco.

The Saudi delegation participating in the Executive Council meeting was headed by Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

In addition, the Kingdom won membership in all five technical committees; Air Transport Committee, Air Safety Committee, Aviation Security Committee, Air Navigation Committee, and Environment Committee.

Al-Duailej stressed that the Kingdom’s winning of the ACAO Executive Council membership and membership in the five technical committees reflects the appreciation of the organization's members to the Kingdom’s pivotal role and its positive efforts in dealing with the air transport industry at the regional and international levels.

It is worth noting that the Kingdom has been a member of the organization since its establishment in 1996. ACAO includes 21 member countries. Being affiliated with the Arab League, the organization aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination between countries in the field of civil aviation.
