Saudi Arabia’s Tech platform aims to boost transparency in the market and ensure fair competition, Al-Eqtisadiah reported, citing Abdulaziz AlHelayyil, General Manager-IT Enablement at Communications & Information Technology Commission (CITC).
The platform also aims to develop and upgrade the sector, in addition to setting a guide for operating facilities.
Registration to Tech platform is not mandatory at present, but many major companies in the Kingdom are seeking to sign up, he said.
He added that the platform, launched by the commission, is meant to register the facilities operating in the IT and emerging technologies sector, according to their categorization.
He also indicated that the platform includes a guide of registered companies, as it seeks to be a channel for international firms in selecting their partner among local players that best fit their specialization. The move also aims to inspire investor confidence in the Saudi market, given detailed information about operating entities.
