The Saudi-Thai Business Forum, which was held on Aug. 29, in Riyadh, witnessed the signing of five agreements between Saudi and Thai entities and companies in several fields, most notably medical tourism, food products and auto spare parts.

According to a statement of the Federation of Saudi Chambers (FSC), a copy of which was picked by Argaam, an agreement was signed to establish the Saudi-Thai Business Council between FSC and the Federation of Thai Industries.

In his speech to the forum, Saad Alkasabi, Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), said Thailand is the 14th commercial partner of the Kingdom, with a trade volume of more than $7 billion in 2021, while the volume of trade exchange is expected to increase by approximately 30% to exceed $9 billion.

Meanwhile, Ajlan Al-Ajlan, Chairman of FSC, said the trade exchange between the two countries amounted to SAR 131 billion over the past five years, and the government support to the Saudi-Thai economic ties contributed to raising the trade exchange by 29% in 2021 compared to a year earlier.
