Saudi aviation strategy requires nearly $100 bln investments: Minister

Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services

The national aviation strategy requires investments in infrastructure, aircraft, and aviation services, of about $100 billion, Asharq channel reported, citing Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser.

Saudi Arabia needs diverse initiatives to achieve aviation strategy’s objectives, whether on the infrastructure side or the new airline and existing national airlines growth.

It also requires expanding operations of regional and foreign airlines, he added, noting that there are several airports under construction.

King Khalid International Airport’s (KKIA) terminals 3 and 4 has integrated services with a design capacity of 13 million passengers.

Accordingly, KKIA capacity exceeds 30 million passengers per year, he stated.
