Ayman Al-Sayari, Governor of Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), ruled out any transactions between Saudi banks and troubled US banks.

The number of licensed fintechs by SAMA reached around 100, Al-Sayari told Al-Arabiya TV.

Further, the number of adults having bank accounts or active digital payments hit 94% of total. The Kingdom aspires to raise this percentage to higher levels in line with the Vision 2030 objectives.

In his closing speech at the Financial Sector Conference, Al-Sayari said, “We aim to create an attractive environment for fintech start-ups in line with the local and global economic developments.”

Also, the Financial Sector Development Program (FSDP) partners will collaborate to support the insurance sector in the Kingdom to achieve growth and sustainability, and enhance its contribution to the national economy, he added.
