MSCI applies periodic changes to Saudi market today

MSCI Inc., the provider of research-based indexes and analytics, implements today, Feb. 29, its changes to the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) based on its quarterly review of indices carried out on Feb. 12.

 

As per the requirements of global index managers, the changes will be implemented today during the closing auction and trade-at-last sessions. 

 

ADES Holding Co. was added to the MSCI Global Standard Index while excluding Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Co. (Petro Rabigh).

 

Meanwhile, National Industrialization Co. (Tasnee) was excluded from the MSCI Global Standard Index and added to MSCI Saudi Arabia Small Cap Index.

 

MSCI also added Lumi Rental Co., Saudi Reinsurance Co., and Saudi Steel Pipe Co. (SSP) to the MSCI Saudi Arabia Small Cap Index. Meanwhile, Riyadh Cables and Saudi Fisheries Co. were excluded.

 

Accordingly, the total number of constituents on the MSCI Saudi Arabia Small Cap Index stood at 79, while the number of the companies included in the MSCI Global Standard Index reached 40.
