Yamama Cement opens new factory

Yamama Cement Co. inaugurated today, March 6, its new factory in Al-Kharj in presence of Governor of Riyadh Region and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources.

 

The new factory spans a total area of approximately 10 square kilometers, with an investment cost of around SAR 6 billion.

Upon its launch, the new factory will produce 30,000 tons of clinker daily.

 

The industry minister said the new facility is one of the factories that joined the Future Factories Program, aiming to transform 4,000 factories in the Kingdom into operationally and technologically advanced factories that adopt the best global practices in the field of the fourth industrial revolution.

 

Prince Naif bin Sultan bin Muhammad, Vice Chairman of Yamama Cement, extended his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for their support to the industrial development process in the Kingdom.

 

He commended the efforts of the Governor of Riyadh Region, including his sponsorship of the factory inauguration ceremony and constant follow-up of development projects in the region.

 

The factory, one of the major national projects that align with the National Industrial Strategy, seeks to contribute to the GDP growth and support the national economy.

 

The cement producer is in the process of making a strong start with its new factory, which will contribute to achieving Vision 2030 goals, the Vice Chairman said. 

 

He pointed to the expansion of the company’s business and the increase of its production lines, as well its keenness to empower the female participation in the labor market, in addition to training and qualifying youth.

 

The Saudization rate in the company reached more than 75%, the top official said, adding that Yamama Cement always seeks to support the efforts of the Ministry of Housing and the major projects that are being carried out across the Kingdom.
