NCB, FGB to fund Etihad Airways' new Boeing fleet

28/12/2014 Argaam

Etihad Airways Global, the national airlines of the United Arab Emirates, said that Saudi Arabia's National Commercial Bank (NCB) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) will finance its purchase of several Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircrafts.

The deal will be financed through an Islamic credit, the company said, without specifying the amount of credit or the number of aircrafts to be acquired.

The two banks were selected based on their offered conditions and competitive prices for the credit facilities compared to other international banks, the airline added.

Etihad Airways currently owns a fleet of 109 aircrafts, in addition to 97 other Boeing aircrafts that it has requested to purchase.
