Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) has awarded Azmeel Contracting a SAR 1 billion contract to build 266 housing units for its employees in Dharan, Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) reported, citing unnamed sources close to the project.
Work on the Dharan project is expected to start at the end of this month.
The contractor was also said to have sealed a $240 million deal for the construction of residential units in Jubail, which is already under way. The project is expected to be finished within 24 months, according to a company spokesperson.
The state-owned oil giant has awarded nearly $1 billion in construction contracts over the last three months, according to MEED data.
