Uber Technologies Inc will appoint Expedia Inc’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, replacing co-founder Travis Kalanick, Bloomberg reported, citing two sources familiar with the matter.
The company’s spokeswoman confirmed that they have chosen a new CEO but declined to reveal his identity, Bloomberg said, saying the board would inform Uber’s employees first.
The company’s board met over the weekend for the final selection of the candidate, interviewing other finalists like Meg Whitman, CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of General Electric, sources told Bloomberg.
Co-founder and former CEO Kalanick had resigned a couple of months earlier following scandals, leaving the company in hurdles and a yet to be scheduled initial public offering.
