Saudi Arabia’s transport ministry will facilitate all the required procedures to implement King Salman’s decree on granting women the right to drive.
Traffic regulations will be applied on male and female drivers alike, the state-owned Saudi Press Agency reported Wednesday, citing Transport Minister Sulaiman Al-Hamdan.
“King Salman has issued a historic royal decree, as it empowers Saudi women and allow them a greater opportunity to actively participate in the Kingdom’s development in line with the Saudi Vision 2030,” Al-Hamdan added.
Saudi Arabia’s monarch has issued a royal decree granting driving licenses for women in the Kingdom as of next June, Argaam reported.
