The Mediterranean and Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Co. (MedGulf) has launched operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to provide health insurance products, general manager Shady Al Mahameed told Sharjah-based Al-Khaleej daily on Tuesday.
Medgulf obtained the required license last December.
The Saudi-listed insurer is in talks with the competent authorities to provide other insurance services, including bank, engineering, maritime, fire and general insurance products, Al Mahameed added.
MedGulf aims to provide compulsory health insurance policies for Dubai residents in 2018, after fulfilling the regulatory requirements of Dubai Health Authority.
