China’s second-biggest e-commerce firm JD.co, is seeking a partnership with the Saudi government as part of plans to enter the Middle East, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing Winston Cheng, president of the firm's international business.

"We want to have a partnership with the Saudi government, Saudi's Vision 2030 is an incredible opportunity," Cheng said, speaking on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative conference in Riyadh, organized by the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Saudi Arabia announced its Vision 2030 economic reform plan last year, in order to overhaul the Kingdom’s economy and reduce its reliance on oil revenues.

"This region is the next new frontier,” said Cheng. "We'll see how this conference turns out in terms of a partnership with the Saudi government but we're looking to move very fast."
