US issues travel warning for Saudi Arabia

22/11/2017 Argaam

The United States has asked its citizens to carefully consider the risks of traveling to Saudi Arabia due to continued threats from terrorist groups and ballistic missile attacks on civilians coming from rebel forces in Yemen, the US Department of State said in a statement.

The statement added that terrorist threats persist throughout Saudi Arabia, including major cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dhahran, and attacks may occur without warning anywhere in the country.

Terrorist groups, including Daesh and its affiliates, have targeted both Saudi and Western government interests, mosques and other religious sites, and places frequented by US citizens and other Westerners, the statement said.

Earlier this month, the Kingdom had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile fired from Yemeni territory towards Riyadh near King Khalid Airport, Argaam earlier reported.
