Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will meet US President Donald Trump at the White House today to discuss several political and economic issues, a senior US government administration official told CNBC.
The two will discuss infrastructure projects, Russia's role in Syria, the Saudi-led intervention in Yemen and the Iranian nuclear deal, he added.
On Monday, the Royal Court said the crown prince had left Saudi Arabia and that during the official visit he will meet Trump and a number of officials to discuss bilateral relations and issues of common interest, Saudi Press Agency reported.
Following Prince Mohammed’s meeting with Trump, he will meet Defense Secretary James Mattis. They are expected to discuss national security issues as well as various ongoing Department of Defense programs.
Prince Mohammed will also meet Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, CIA director Mike Pompeo, and have dinner with National Security Adviser H R McMaster, CBNC reported.
The Saudi delegation will hold talks with defense industry giants Lockheed Martin and Boeing on Wednesday, following which Prince Mohammed will embark on a nearly three-week-long trip across the US.
The Crown Prince is also expected to meet top US businesspeople and Hollywood fraternity members.
