Saudi telecom regulator imposes SAR 14 mln fines on STC, Mobily, Zain

Saudi Arabia’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has imposed fines of SAR 14 million on Saudi Telecom Co. (STC), Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily)  and Mobile Telecommunication Company Saudi Arabia (Zain Saudi) in Q3 2018.

 

CITC fined the three major telecom service providers for violations after conducting 21 inspection campaigns in the third quarter to ensure their compliance, the telecom regulator said in a statement.

 

The telecom regulator issued 14 new licenses for providing various services in the market.

 

Meanwhile, a total of 187,000 subscribers benefited from mobile number portability in the same period, the statement added.
