Saudi airports handle 100 million passengers in 2018: GACA

Nearly 100 million passengers used Saudi airports in 2018, according to official data released by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

 

The number of passengers rose 8 percent to 99.86 million as number of flights grew by 4.1 percent to 771,828  fights compared to 2017.

 

The top destination for passengers traveling out of the Kingdom was the UAE followed by Egypt, Pakistan, India and Turkey.

 

Nearly 36 million passengers used King Abdulaziz International Airport  in Jeddah, registering the highest rate of passenger movement in 2018.

 

King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh came second with 27.9 million passengers, followed by King Fahd International Airport in Dammam at third place with 10.4 million passengers.

 

Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah was placed fourth with 8.8 million passengers, and Abha International Airport took the fifth place with 4.5 million passengers, GACA noted.
