Saudi Military Industries Company (SAMI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Singapore-based global tech and defense group, ST Engineering, to identify and explore business opportunities in the Kingdom.
The MoU, signed on the sidelines of the Paris Air Show, covers sectors of systems of land, aviation, marine, electronics, weapons, and ammunition as well as future systems.
Under the MoU, a Terrex 2 (8 x 8) wheeled armored platform will be provided for Saudi Royal Land Forces, a new generation of the Infantry Fighting Vehicle will be developed, and the prospect of cooperation to develop maintenance and repair capabilities for commercial and military customers will be explored.
Both parties will also study the scope of participation in the promotion and development of new C130 aircraft, while assisting in the modernization of the Saudi electronics industry.
