Advanced Petrochemicals 2014 net profit up 35% to 751 mln

Advanced Petrochemicals Company, which produces ​p​oly​p​ropylene, said on Sunday that its net profit for 2014 reached SAR 751 million, a 35 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The company reported a net profit of SAR 200 million during the fourth quarter alone, compared to SAR 228.7 million in the third quarter of ​2014.

 

In comparison with the previous year, the net profit of 2014 ​increased due to ​rising​ petrochemical prices, higher sales, and a slight drop in the prices of feedstock, the company said in a statement.

 

During the fourth quarter of 2014, Advanced also saw a slight increase in sales and a drop in the prices of feedstock, compared with​ the​ ​same quarter of the previous year.

 

The third quarter of 2014 had included SAR 34.5 million gain from investments in the Saudi equity market, therefore its net profit results were much higher than Q4-2014, the company said.

 

The net ​profit of the fourth quarter had also dropped from third quarter due to a SAR 11 million loss in investment.
