Advanced net profit jumps 68% to SAR 436 mln in H1 2021

Advanced Petrochemical Co. reported a net profit after Zakat and tax of SAR 436 million for the first half of 2021, a 68% rise, compared to SAR 259 million in the year-earlier period.

The profit rise was spurred by a 53% year-on-year (YoY) increase in polypropylene selling prices. Advanced reported an increase of SAR 53 million in its profit share from SK Advanced. 

The company’s net profit after Zakat and tax for the second quarter surged 71% to SAR 265 million, from SAR 155 million in Q2 2020, due to a rise of 72% YoY in polypropylene selling prices and higher profit share from SK Advanced.

 

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, net profit grew by 55% from SAR 171 million.
