Farm Superstores' net profit drops 34% in 9M 2017

Saudi Marketing Co. (Farm Superstores) reported a net profit of SAR 50 million for the first nine months of 2017, down 33.9 percent year-on-year (YoY) due to lower revenue and a decrease in sales of household appliances and high-margin luxury items.

 

Higher selling, general, and administrative (SG&A) expenses, along with an increase in non-operating costs, also weighed on results.

Q3 net profit also plunged 65 percent on a sequential basis.
