Saudi Electricity Company reported 2014 net profit of SAR 3611 million, a 19 percent increase compared to the last year.

 

A net loss of SAR 1802 million was reported for Q4-2014 compared to a net profit of SAR 2668 for Q3.

The company attributed the increase of 2014’s net profit compared to the last year to settling some debts against which provisions were previously formed in addition to the improvement of operating income.

 

The company also attributed the increase of Q4-2014’s losses compared to the same period last year to implementing the use of the transport system convention, and high consumption.

 

Q4’s net losses compared to a net profit for the previous period (Q3-2014) was due to seasonal weather factors as the company's revenue are substantially less during the winter months and increases during the summer months and higher depreciation expenses.
