Arab National Bank (ANB) reported a net profit of SAR 1.129 billion for the first half of 2020, a slump of 32% year-on-year (YoY), driven by a decline of 12.1% in gross operating income, lower net special commission income and increased operating expenses.

ANB's net profit for the second quarter declined 46% YoY to SAR 486 million, due to lower gross operating income, decreased net special commission income, and the slump in profit share from associates.

 

The bank also cited a 21.5% rise in total operating expenses.

 

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the profit for the current quarter dropped by 22.58%.
